I had hoped that the USA could get over its patriarchy to elect a competent woman president. I had hope that the manners we teach our children would be reflected in the president of our country. I had hoped that the collaboration that builds successful businesses would be reflected in our federal government. I was wrong. I was wrong to think that others hold the same values I do.
This is a nation of bullies who disrespect their fellow humans and the rest of the creatures that share this planet with us.
I know many women have bought into the patriarchy and support the theory that bombs over cooperation wins the day. I know many women who believe that their pocketbook is more important than clean air and water. Any many men think that as well. But when your child has cancer from breathing dirty air, your money won’t matter.
The planet we all share provides ever human air to breath, water to drink and food to eat. Like the planet, we women also have been thrown under the bus in the quest for power.
I feel for those who live in Republican controlled states, but then again, people keep electing those who keep them down.
Over all the years I have spent fighting for the rights of women and the environment, I don’t know that I have ever felt more shit upon then today. Thank you Kamala for challenging the patriarchy. You are an inspiration to millions! #kamalaharrisforpresident2024
