As the world watches the bungled evacuation of American Citizens, US Allies, and at risk Afghans from Afghanistan, the horrors of similar bungled issues from the past are dredged up and we are emotionally vulnerable. The Fall of Saigon, the partitioning of Berlin, the fall of eastern Europe to the Soviet Union, the Rwandan genocide, the Rohingya genocide and so much more. Let’s not forget US genocide of the indigenous people.
Why do humans feel the need to murder those who are different from them? We all have people we love and are traumatized by violence, death, and the disruption of our lives.
