Today I’m feeling like I’m living in a world that has too many similarities to Germany in the 1930s..
Just so people are clear about me, I support all genders, all races, all immigration status. All types of humans can be good, kind, sharing people or not. I’m not into white power and actively work against it when and where I can.
I don’t support a government that destroys our air, water, land so someone can get rich and leave the rest of the people sick. I don’t support this president.
I support people who are working for social and environmental justice, the rights of historically disadvantaged and LGTBQ+ communities. I support all the environmental activists who know that we live on one planet and that all of our survival is interconnected. I actively work to protect creatures great and small who need a place to live on a planet overrun with human beings. Climate change is real and everything we do to reduce greenhouse gas emissions makes the air cleaner for our children and our grandparents.
I want to live in a world where all people have food, shelter and clean water to drink. I do my best to avoid supporting giant corporations.
I feel threatened by people who display swastikas and confederate paraphernalia. I feel threatened by people who walk around with guns no matter who they are. The USA has never been a perfect place but it has been on a trajectory towards equality, equity, and caring for the planet and I for one am doing my best to maintain this trajectory. I hope you will join me by speaking your heartsong.
