San Diego County has the most distinct eco-systems of any county in the lower 48 states. In February, I had the joy of being in Anza-Borrego State Park, Blair Valley to witness the lush Cholla and remnants of last year’s super bloom still on the Octillo.
Blair Valley Dry Lake Bed
We hiked to the pictographs in Little Blair Valley and were astonished by the view from the long dry waterfall. A view of the land to what I believe are the Otay Mountains straddling the US and Mexido. A thirty minute drive up the hill and I was in Julian with it’s magnificent Oak and Pine trees and snow just starting to fall.
