Photo of old cameras

As a teenager, I had an old professional camera with accordion extension when you opened it similar to the ones in this photo. It was a hand-me-down camera from my uncle, Svante Löfgren, the Swedish journalist. It was old because he was born in 1918 and spent 80 years as a journalist.

When I was older I got a more modern film based camera and enjoyed taking photos.  Over twenty years ago my enjoyment of taking photos disappeared and I stopped.

Now that we are in a pandemic and I can walk the banks of Rose Creek on my lunch hour or after work instead of sitting in traffic, I’ve started taking photos again. Nothing fancy and I’m doing it with my iPhone, but if you want to see what I’m doing now thanks to Uncle Svante, you can find what is mostly my photos at https://www.instagram.com/rosecreeksd/

I hope this pandemic has opened up some new horizons for your or helped you find the places you left behind.
